Wright MT

The day dawned chilly and cloudy, however the skies brightened and we headed to Bradford, VT (Home of the first globe map manufactured in the United States) to visit Devil’s Den and the summit of Wright’s Mountain (elevation  1,822 feet).  The hike up was made more interesting by a short side trip to Devil’s Den.  The UVLT describes this area best – “Devil’s Den lies in an impressive, sheer-walled ravine between a southeastern ridge off of Wright’s Mountain and the main summit ridge. The shallow caves there were formed by large blocks of ledge that have tumbled down over time.”  After some time scrambling over the boulders here, we continued on to the summit, where our McDonlad’s cheeseburgers were consumed.  The descent was made more interesting by the nonstop playing of 20questions.  I do not think that I have ever talked so much on a hike.  All in all a great hike of 4 miles for the Groovies

    Hey Groovies,

Did you ever notice how 20 questions can easily become 40, 50 questions? It makes the time pass though and keeps little legs moving.
