Summit of the Hook Isla San Francisco-La Paz, Mexico January 5, 2009

On our recent Sailing Trip off the coast of La Paz, Mexico, we decided to tackle the Summit of the Hook of Isla San Francisco.  If you are interested in the entire trip, along with pictures, it has been immortalized on the Blog Site of Enrique Suave.    Needless to say it was a fantastic trip.

Isla San Francisco is a beautiful, very  remote island with a noticeable hook on the southern end.  The hook of land creates a fantastic boat anchorage and the opportunity for snorkeling and kayaking in a relatively sheltered locating.  The island itself is uninhabited by humans, but provides multiple hiking opportunities.  An excellent hike is to go up the mountain summit that forms a portion of the actual hook.  The views are stunning and if you are properly equipped can be enjoyed while relishing a Corona with a slice of Limones and a delightful Cheeseburger cookedon the barbecue on your sail boat.  We had the opportunity to just that.   Some people will tell you that Limones are only good for treating Jellyfish Stings, but I can attest that they are a universal panacea for what ails you if you combine them with a nice Cerveza.

I like that picture of the summit ridge! But I also need to note the beautiful still life of Cheeseburgers, catsup and mustard.

    Nice flurry of posts, too!

What can I say, the fear of FlyingPelvis beating me to the posting punch has got me motivated.

The other motivating factor is that Enrique Suave believes that he is suffering from the Swine Flu (104 temp etc.) and I figured he must of contracted it on our trip back in January (what is the incubation period 3-6 months or what?) and I will be getting it next. So I just wanted to put my life in order before I expire……

Kudos to Enrique Suave for contracting Limes Disease. That is the true sign of a dedicated hiker (or just living in the North East).

I hope the 30 days of doxycycline clears it up.
