First Hill-Mercer Island, Washington March 24, 2008

As we came to the end of our visit to the Hendersons and Woodinville, SafetyMan suggested that we try and knock off one last Washington Peak.  After a quick perusal of our route to Pikes Place and then out of town, we settled on First Hill.  First Hill is located on Mercer Island, just off of interstate 90.  First Hill is named for being the first hill encountered traveling East from downtown Seattle.

We made a quick stop at the Woodinville McDonalds for multiple breakfast sandwhiches and then onto First Hill.  It was a cold wet Seattle morning as we stepped out of our cars and quickly made our way to the First Hill Park and the summit of First Hill.  We chose to eat our Sausage or Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuits at the top of the play structure, as it was the highest determinable point.  SafetyMan headed out to begin his work day as Splasher enjoyed using the slide and running around.  Overall a great summit.

Summits: First Hill 361 feet

Summiteers: Elena (Splasher), Lisa (Esterlinkage), Mark (SafetyMan) and John (Wimpy)

Entry filed under: Washington Summits.
