Sunset Peak – Goat Country

A beautiful blue bird day for a hike! Not too much traffic for this ascent with my friend Mike, and the trail was pretty wide open after hitting the decision point to go toward Albion Basin / or up to Sunset.  Probably the most notable point was after descending from the peak and hitting the ridgeline (still above Albion Basin turn off) stumbled upon three mountain goats. Of course as soon as they heard the velcro rip, no matter how slow, of my camera coming out they bolted over the ridge and straight down (I think it had to be 1,000 ft) to the lakes in about the time it took me to scramble 10 feet up to the ridge to see where they went. No good pics of them, but something cool to see. Other than that an standard descent with a nice touch of rain.
