A Millie’s Double Cheeseburger on Mount Aire

Got a late start due to me (BKA Wimpy) waking up at 5:40 AM, instead of meeting Paul (AKA SirloinofBeef) at 5:30 AM. After cursing and running in circles for several minutes, I eventually grabbed my shorts, boots, a delicious Millie’s Double Cheeseburger and ran out the door. The Cheeseburger had been purchased the night before at Millie’s Burgers (2100 South and 1000 East, in downtown Sugarhouse). This is a true Mom and Pop establishment with good food and decent prices. We hit the Elbow Fork trail head, in Mill Creek Canyon at ~6:20 AM and began the 1.7 mile ascent to the top of Mount Aire. After a shade under 2000 feet of elevation gain, we topped out on Mount Aire at 8621 feet. Because Paul had previously summited and consumed a Cheeseburger on Mount Aire, he chose to abstain and spend his time snapping pictures of the beautiful views. As a first timer, I chose to sit down and enjoy the delightful Double Cheeseburger. After a moment to digest and enjoy the views of the central Wasatch Mountains, we headed back down to the trailhead. We were back in the car by 8:01 AM for a rountrip of about and hour and forty minutes. A perfect workday morning hike.

It really depends on how much you have overslept and whether you remembered to put some water in the fridge to chill

You need CHILLED water? What’s next – pedicures before big hikes?
