Mmmm. A Tuscan Buffalo Summit Cheeseburger.

Easter morning – before the Easter egg hunt we made a quick hop up Avenues Twin Peaks. Along for the ride were buffalo burgers topped with olives and Pecorino cheese. The burgers had been supplemented with balsamic vinegar, basil, roasted peppers, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper. All on a toasted bun.

It’s simply amazing that no one has hiked up the Avenues Twin Peaks with a Cheeseburger before. It’s a short (2.2 mi. roundtrip) without too much elevation gain – and you get great views of the Salt Lake Valley from both peaks.  Perhaps someone has hiked these peaks but the extreme difficulty of writing a post (and sounding as witty as they think they are) was too much effort.

Starting from Terrace Hills Dr. we hiked up the ridge to an overlook into City Creek Canyon. The trail turned right and ascended another ridge meeting up with the summits. We took in the great views of Red Butte, Black Mountain, and Dude Peak and ate a burger on each of the two summits. The descent began with some bushwacking down to the Shoreline trail.  Chuck, remember, it’s not a hike without bushwacking!

Welcome to Chuck, the latest Cheeseburger summiteer!
